Rebecca Parsons has been an instructor of the performing arts for over thirty years teaching the genres of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Polynesian, Lyrical, Contemporary and Musical Theater. She has also been a Performing Arts Team director for seven years.She received her B.A. in Public Communications and Theater from American University in Washington, D.C. in 2002.

 

Her students have received numerous scholarships and regional and national Pageant titles, including Miss Teen Dance of America and Jr Miss Preteen Dance of Virginia. Rebecca’s students have received scholarships and dance acceptances to such universities as Old Dominion, James Madison, George Mason, Radford, Oklahoma City, William and Mary and West Virginia. She has former students on both Collegiate and National level dance/cheerleading teams as well as employed Disney World dancers in Orlando.

 

Rebecca has attained overall high score placements for both solo and group performers as well as best choreography on both the regional and national competition level.

 

Her daughters, Garlyn and Etta, are now dancers as well. She lives with them and her loving and supportive husband, Brian, in the Hickory area of Chesapeake.
