Theresa’s passion for dance started at age 3 in Stratford, CT. She has received a diverse training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, pointe, musical theater, cheerleading, and tumbling/acro. She spent her childhood dancing at various studios in Connecticut, where she was a member of the competition team, and received her first taste of teaching at age 11 when she became a teacher's assistant until she graduated high school.

 

Theresa was never able to leave dance studio life. After graduating college with her degree in accounting, she returned to her childhood studio in Stratford, CT as their Acro Instructor and Front Desk Assistant for one year before joining the Spotlight Dance Academy team in Westford, MA. At SDA she taught students as young as 3 through adult varying styles of dance. She has attended numerous dance teacher conferences and competitions where she is always looking to learn and improve her teaching techniques and knowledge to pass on to her students. Her favorite part about teaching is watching her students grow confidence in new styles and techniques they are learning.

 

While Theresa is not at the studio you can likely find her spending time with her husband, Mike, also known as Maintenance Mike around the studio and her puppy, Cadhla. She also enjoys playing flag football, volleyball, kayaking, and hiking.

She is a member of the International Dance Entrepreneurs Association, and is a certified Module 1 Acrobatic Arts Instructor. In 2020, she was awarded the Young Business Person of the Year through CoVa Biz Best of Business.
